Keyboards - Day 2

Me (David) and Stefan went to Gävle around noon to do some shopping and get something to eat before heading to the studio. Mike called and told us that the landlord had painted the stairway up to the studio, and we wouldn't be able to access it for another 5 hours. Since this was totally unacceptable we simply told Mikael to "solve the problem".

When we reached the studio, Mikael must have been drying the steps with a hairdryer or something (he wouldn't tell us) because we managed to get up the stairs without making permanent footsteps in the paint.

Soo, we continued with keyboards on DISSOLVING SOUL FRAGMENTS and TACTILE today. We also copied some old arragements from the old recording of CLONING ASSEMBLY to the new version. (yeah, we are lazy bastards!!)

We will post some media from today later on.

For now, try to guess who this is! Also check out this video of Mikael and Stefan having a staged intense argument.

We will continue recording on Monday. Have a great New Year's Eve, everyone! We'll see you in 2006.

St. Michael (or is it Jesus himself?)

"Lassie come home" - impressive name for a synth patch, huh?

Keyboards - Day 1

After a 4-month break that included several moves, conquering southern France (and selected parts of the Mediterranean Sea) and infiltrating the Cloetta Center we were ready to continue our quest for world domination from the studio.

David, Mikael & Stefan met up around lunch time in the Clockwork studio, everyone very eager to start working.

Keyboards was on the schedule today. We started off by recording pads and massive choirs for the songs SPAWN and ROOM 101. Mikael, who was suffering from a minor cold, which caused him to be a bit on slow in translating chords from the guitar to the keyboard, had to make notes of all the chords and parts he was going to play. Neither David or Stefan understood this behaviour and uttered things like "du skriver ju bara" ("you're only writing") between takes to this poor man whose mucus was running like Forrest Gump.

Some media:

Mikael's brain-paper.

For a moment, Stefan's pure-metal-evilness from the dark side revealed itself.

G-flat; very important note, as you can see.

David - happy to be in the northern parts of the world and working on a smashing album!

Video of David and Stefan talking about the "human feeling" in the music of TF.

Video of Mikael laying down some nice chords during the calm part in SPAWN.

Tomorrow we will continue working with the rest of the keyboard stuff as well as putting down some Moog. It'll kick some serious butt. Stay tuned!
